Who We Are

Tracy DiNunzio

Who I am in 25 words: A passionate businessperson and entrepreneur, artist, world traveler, and environmentalist with an intense creative streak who loves problem-solving, data alchemy, a good challenge, and spicy food.

What I can do: I consult for businesses large and small on general sustainability strategies, web marketing, branding, SEO, social media marketing, and much more. My first website, RecycledBride.com, was built without any paid marketing, using nothing but smart social media, SEO, and PR to grow into a 200k+ visitor/month entity. I now teach and apply the same techniques I used to grow my own business to other startups. I see possiblities everywhere, and I can help you determine where yours lie and take the necessary steps to take to make them a reality.

What I’ve done: I went to the School of Visual Arts in NYC as an undergrad, earning a degree in Fine Art.  Then I got the travel bug, so I wandered the globe painting and exhibiting my work until I landed in Mexico, where I earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Universidad de Guanajuato. Since then, I’ve worked as an artist, researcher, copywriter, editor, and volunteer with various organizations in the US and abroad. More recently, I’ve provided PR services, strategy, and sustainability and social media consulting to large web-based businesses like The Bike Insurer and MovieFlix, among others.  I founded Recycled Media, Inc. in 2009, funding the company by selling every last painting in my studio. Now my favorite “canvas” is the Internet, and I approach every new project with the creativity and enthusiasm of an inspired artist. I can’t imagine a more interesting or exciting job, and truly love my work.

What I do: I write and produce editorial stories for magazines, websites, and television. I also work with consumer brands as a copywriter, style expert, and marketing consultant. With three books published, I have proven myself as an exceptional writer with the ability to communicate in an accessible and exciting way. Online, in print, and on-air I reach a dedicated audience of influential, product-driven style-seekers. I  successfully capture and retain thousands of unique visitors mostly through grass roots, viral marketing, and social media iefforts. I harness the power of social media to communicate with and influence my target audience on a daily basis.  And I can bring the same magic to your brand too.

What I’ve done: Before I launched my own business in 2005, I was an often promoted Marketing Expert for three of the most successful businesses in fashion, lifestyle, and media—Donna Karan New York, Vanity Fair Magazine, and most recently, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. Dana LaRue

Who I am in 25 words: I’m a creative maven bringing my flair for living one step outside-the-box to my passion for crafting brilliantly bad-ass businesses and brands with lots of moxie.

What I do: I am the founder and CEO of Broke-Ass Media, and editor-in-chief at our award-winning blog, The Broke-Ass Bride. My wedding expertise has been featured in countless publications, and I was recently named one of the Top 10 Social Media Influencers in the Wedding Industry by WedBiz Journal. I’ve lent my business development, branding and social media expertise to a wide range of fields, from financial corporations to women’s website networks to creative artists and actors too. Basically, if Oprah and Suze Orman had a baby, and Carrie Bradshaw and Mary Poppins had a baby… and their babies had a baby? Yeah, I’d be that baby.

What I’ve done: We launched The Broke-Ass Bride in 2008, and it grew from a grassroots personal site to wedding industry staple within a matter of months, thanks to the readership’s enthusiastic viral advocacy of what they quickly recognized as an unique new perspective on wedding planning to fill a gaping void in the market. Since then we’ve won multiple blog awards, been named Google’s Blog of Note, and regularly write articles and lead workshops for both engaged couples and industry insiders alike. In 2010 we launched the Broke-Ass Cake Collection, our partnership with cake designers to the rich and famous, Fantasy Frostings, affording even budget brides the chance have star-quality cake and eat it too. Rather than a narrow focus on saving money, we empower brides to spend wisely and live richly, using creativity as currency to craft a bad-ass wedding and life.

As a consultant, I have developed and implemented social media growth strategies for Momversation.comParentsAsk.comGoodBite.com, and various independent business owners and artists. Many brands have sought my guidance and feedback on their marketing and creative components, and I’ve written compelling and entertaining copy for many clients, from buttoned-up accounting firms to high-end wedding accessories. Our consulting clients feed our creativity, and we love transforming brides, businesses and brands with our special brand of fairy dust. I believe in teaching through empowerment, that margaritas taste best out of a mason jar, and that Bob Marley is my guardian angel.
